A CHDO (pronounced cho'doe) is a private non-profit, community-based service organization that has significant capacity, and whose primary purpose is, to develop affordable housing for the community it serves. IHCDA will review registration lists prior to TDA approving your registration. Targeted to executive directors and senior managers of CHDOs and nonprofit development organizations and based on courses developed and delivered for the U. Department of Housing and Urban Development HUDStrategic Management for CHDO and Nonprofit Development Executives consists of an online orientation, webinar training, a chdo business plan online collage-style course, and a capstone project.
This kicks chdo business plan the series and provides an overview of the HOME program and the CHDO set-aside — covering the CHDO definition, CHDO project roles, and core HOME requirements related to the development of both homebuyer for-sale and rental housing. From this foundation, chdo business plan, participants transition into an online college-style course consisting of three modules delivered over 18 weeks, with two weeks off one week between each module.
With modules focusing chdo business plan operations management, chdo business plan, financial management, and strategic planning, each week includes several short presentations and reading assignments.
Participants are required to join discussion forums and complete weekly assignments, applying their learning to issues and challenges facing their own organizations. While most of the course will be delivered asynchronously, each of the three modules include one live session, allowing participants to interact with each other and the instructor.
Capstone projects will be presented to the other participants, the program instructor, and IHCDA representatives. Depending on public health conditions, chdo business plan, the capstone projects may be presented in-person in Indianapolis or online.

Each individual who registers is expected to fully participate in the training. Orientation: The program will begin with an online orientation held during the first week of June. Online College-Style Course: Each course week runs from Wednesday to Tuesday, allowing participants to do work on the weekends, as needed.
The operations management module will begin June 23 and run for five weeks. A one-week break beginning August 11 will be followed by a three-week module on financial management beginning August Following another one-week break, the final strategic planning module will begin Chdo business plan 15 and run for five chdo business plan. Capstone Project: Capstone projects will be presented during the final week of October, with specific scheduling to be determined depending on whether deliveries will be held in-person or online.
